Beach Party Card

I made this card for the Michael Strong Yahoo group July Challenge.
It's a pocket card with a tag. I left some space on the tag to write a greeting.
The fish look like they're actually swimming in the water!
It's a fun card and if you're inspired to make one yourself, here's the tutorial

Supplies used:
Turquoise canvas textured CS
Cream canvas textured CS
Michael Strong Mini Cloisonné Creatures - Fish, Seastar, Shell
VersaFine ink pad - Onyx Black
Ziplock bag
Hair gel
Orange organza ribbon
Scor-Pal
EK Success Corner Adorner
EK Success 1.75 inch Circle punch

You can see how it looks like when the tag is out.
The Seastar and the Shell were glued 3D for extra dimension.

Michael Strong Coffee Blog Hop

Welcome to the Michael Strong Coffee Blog Hop.
Please note: this is an international blog hop. Due to different time zones, other blogs may not be "live" yet. If that happens, please hop on over to another blog and come visit that blog later in the day.
It is a circular blog hop, so wherever you start you will see them all.

Here's my contribution to the Coffee themed Blog Hop.

My youngest son likes drinking Ice Coffee after spending a hot day outdoors, so I made him a box for Ice coffee bars.

Ingredients:
White and light brown marbled CS for the Box
Recycled Kraft cereal package
Michael Strong's Hetty's Coffee Cup Set
Embossing ink
Bronze EP
Tim Holtz Coffee Stains stamp from the Mini Muse stamp set
StazOn ink - Timber Brown
Scor-Pal
TH scissors
Double sided foam tape

First I created the box out of white and light brown marbled CS, following Michael Strong's tutorial.
Then I used Michael Strong's Hetty's Coffee Cup Set - the coffee cup stamps (large and small).
I stamped the coffee cups on a piece of recycled Kraft cereal package and heat embossed them with bronze EP, then cut them with TH scissors and glued them 3D for extra dimension.
I stamped Tim Holtz Coffee Stains stamp inside and outside the box, using StazOn ink (Timber Brown).

I filled the box with Ice coffee bars, which are the perfect match for this box.
I hope my son will like this surprise when he comes home later today…
Well, he just saw it and he said it was COOL !!! He really loved it.

Red Black & White Kimono Card

This is my 5th card this week as Card Captain of the Michael Strong's Yahoo group.

Ingredients:
Red leather textured CS for the card's basis
Black canvas textured CS
White CS
Cuttlebug embossing folder - Distressed Stripes
Ranger's Distress ink - Fired Brick
A recycled piece of a cereals package
Michael's Strong's Cloisonné Kimono stamp
Embossing ink
Hematite EP
3D foam tape
Clear and red blings

I embossed the white CS through the Cuttlebug and distressed it using Ranger's Distress ink - Fired Brick.
I stamped Michael Strong's Cloisonné Kimono on a piece of cereals package (I say: reuse and recycle whenever possible!)
I heat embossed the stamped image with Hematite EP.
Then I carefully cut the Kimono using TH scissors. I didn't use Michael Strong's die cutters here because the cereals package was very thick.
I layered the papers and added the Kimono using 3D foam tape for extra dimension.
I added several clear and red blings to add some glam.

Spread Your Wings Dragonfly Card

This is my 2nd card this week as Card Captain of the Michael Strong's Yahoo group.
I wanted this card to express the power of nature in dramatic and vivid colors.
Ingredients:
Black leather textured CS for the card's basis
Basic Grey patterned paper - Pheobe
Pergamano Parchment (Vellum) paper
Michael's Strong's Cloisonné Dragonfly stamp (large)
Embossing ink

The Dragonfly was heat embossed with Carnelian EP on Pergamano Parchment (Vellum) paper.
I cut the Dragonfly carefully using TH scissors and glued it using Diamond Glaze, only in the center, its wings hanging in the air to get the feeling of flight and movement.
The sentiment "Spread Your Wings" was hand written by me on the Basic Grey patterned paper and glued 3D for extra dimension.
I added several white half pearls for extra glam.

Take a look at the Dragonfly's close-up.

I used Michael Strong's Cloisonné Butterfly (small) from the Mini Cloisonné Wings stamp set.

Then I cut the mini Butterflies using TH scissors.
I used dark pink artificial flower stamens for each butterfly's antennas, taped on its back side.
I distressed the patterned paper pieces with brown ink to give it contrasting edges.
I glued the patterned paper and the mini Butterflies 3D, using double sided foam tape, for extra dimension.
The sentiment "Happy Birthday" was written by me on the Basic Grey patterned paper.

Humument Pages Swap - Part 1

Recently I hosted a swap of Humument Pages at the commune "Follow Your Arts" (in Israel).
You can read more about Humument here, it's very inspiring.
Usually, one page is chosen from a book for all the participants in the swap to pull a sentence out of the same text.
Naturally, each one of them comes up with a specific sentence and decorates the page accordingly.
This swap was different. I found old books and gave the participants pages to work on - from the same book but different pages.
Actually, there were two books - one in Hebrew and one in English.
The result was indeed surprising.
Each participant found several sentences and decorated each page accordingly, all pages different from each other.
I created 9 pages, using various techniques.
First, I chose a specific sentence in each page and marked it with a black pen.
Then I attached the old book pages to CS to make them sturdier.
I colored the whole pages, except for the chosen sentences, with Antique White acrylic paint.
I distressed the edges with Ranger's Vintage Photo distress ink.
I created a collage by adhering images (cut out of recycled magazine pages) according to the subject of each sentence.
I stampe an antique text stamp from Tim Holtz Urban Grunge clear stamp set.
This enhances the fact that although covered by paint, the main issue here is the text itself.
I also stamped the antique text on the back of the CS, where I added the swap's details.

Here are my first 3 pages. I'll post the next pages in the following days.
Page 1 - the sentence is:
"Lulu's hand didn't make dinner."

Page 2 - the sentence is:
"Sascha talked to single women naked"

Page 3 - the sentence is:
"I eat whenever I'm not hungry because It's a relief"
Later on I'll take all the pages, mine and the other participants', and bind them together to create an interesting Humument booklet.
