This card was made for the Chinese New Year - the year of the rabbit, celebrated on February 3rd 2011.
Ingredients:
Red leather textured CS for the card's basis
Transparent vellum paper with Chinese text in gold and Chinese marks in dark red, carefully attached so the glue is hidden underneath it
Shiny gold paper, its corners punched using Martha Stewart Large Punch around the Page - Double Arches set (I used only the corner punch here)
Rabbit stamp by Comotion rubber stamps from my private collection (discontinued), stamped with black ink on red leather textured CS
Red half pearls, to add some glam.
Inside the card:
A small piece of red leather textured CS
Shiny gold paper, its upper border punched using Martha Stewart Large Punch around the Page - Double Arches set (I used only the border punch here)
Rabbit stamp by Comotion rubber stamps from my private collection (discontinued), stamped with black ink.
For the interlacing ribbon piece I used matt gold canvas textured CS
Both its edges were punched with EK Success Binding Edge Edger Punch.
Then I used a narrow red satin ribbon, interlacing it from one side to the other all the way down, and simply tying its ends.
This piece was glued 3D for extra dimension.
On the red envelope:
Rabbit stamp by Comotion rubber stamps from my private collection (discontinued), stamped with black ink
and there's a cream outer envelope for postal delivery.

Altered Book -

(for a short English version please scroll down)

Here's a page I created in Maya's altered book called "Animals and Wonders".
In this scene the giraffe is naturally getting to the top leaves of the tree, and the question asked here (which is often presented to tall people) is: What's the weather like up there?
I used the new acrylic stamps in Hebrew, designed by Limor from "Practical Magic"and Mai-Chu.
These stamps are highly recommended, as they're very useful and easy to use.
I'm sure I'm going to use them again.
Some recycling: I stamped the text on a recycled tea box, and I used Martha Stewart's Rose Leaf punch on recycled green add papers.
I hope Maya likes the page I created in her book, as I'm planning on working on another one...

A Wonderful Way To Start The New Year

My mini Christmas card was chosen by Michael Strong as one of the winning cards in December's challenge.
(You can enlarge the photo by clicking on it)

Here's' what Mike wrote about my card:
Dorly Weitzen – Israel Here is another WOW card from Dorly! She has shown us that a simple idea can yield breath taking results. She has used dozens of tiny punched branches to form a spectacular little tree. I love how the card opens to reveal yet another surprise inside, a bright red Christmas tree – so unexpected and so Dorly! Well Done!
Mike, Thank you for your compliments.
What a wonderful way to start the new year!
You can read about this card here
I'll be participating a blog hop soon and there's a little candy on the way, so follow me and stay tuned...

Happy New Year 2011

It's 1.1.11 and the time is 11:11 a.m.
I wanted to share a few photos from my beautiful country - Israel.
(You can enlarge each photo by clicking on it)

A sunny day in late December, a view towards Tel-Aviv and the Mediterranean Sea

Last year was a time of new experiences and new beginnings for me.
I've reached quite a few goals and I'm proud of it.
I hope that the new year will be intriguing and challenging, filled with happy occasions and with many reasons to celebrate.
Ever since I started blogging I met wonderful people from all over the world.
A few of them became true friends while others are online friends but very close. I cherish your friendship.
For the new year I hope for lots of creativity and inspiration.
I hope to attend quite a few blog hops (I love them!) so let me know if there's any I can join.
For the happy occasions coming soon there will be a few giveaways (don't you love them?) so stay tuned…
Keep following, and thank you for your ongoing feedback and support.
Happy New Year! I wish all my friends a year of health, prosperity, creativity and love.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed. Have a creative day! Dorly
